Buttock Augmentation
These procedures are for the individual who is unable to develop proportionate Gluteal muscles, lacks buttock fat, or simply desires more augmentation in the buttock area. The buttocks are augmented with the use of implants specifically designed for such a use or with your own fat, if applicable. You don't have to be a weightlifter to desire a well balanced physique; buttock augmentation with fat grafting are for anyone who would like more curves where they have none.
With Fat Grafting
You must have a plentitude of existing body fat, say in the flanks, back, thighs, abdomen, arm, etc. to harvest for use in augmentation. When fat is transplanted into areas that are not predetermined fat areas, like the lips, the chance of fat survival is nominal after the first implantation if no vascularity is introduced to the inner most areas of fat. This results in fat necrosis (fat cell death) which your body will safely absorb and your augmentation results, lessened. With this procedure, reportedly there is nominal fat necrosis/absorption.

For Fat Grafting it is generally the same concept but different techniques, from liposuction of the fat or manual aspiration with a syringe. Some surgeons centrifuge the fat, or spin it, and remove the excess fluids. Some surgeons thread it within the muscle, some within the subcutaneous fat areas, and some a combo of these -- and even others simple injections. Please discuss this factor with your surgeon.
What does a typical consultation for Buttock Augmentation entail?
Your surgeon will discuss with you the realistic expectations you must
have and what he thinks is possible for the end result. He will discuss
the risks of the procedure. show photos if applicable and discuss with you
the details of the procedure itself. It is possible that your doctor (depending
on your measurements and desires) may have to custom fit an imlant. Normally
the surgeon will have to custom fit you by carving the inner portion of
the implant to fit an individuals glutes. That way there will be more comfort
for the patient.
For Fat he will pinch areas of your body where fat has collected in search
for viable fat to aspirate and re-implant.

Pain medications should alleviate most of the pain or discomfort you may feel. You must be careful not to strain the muscles in that area or squat for a few weeks. What scars are involved with Buttock Augmentation?
For Fat Grafting small scars will result where the fat was removed and the areas which were used to re-implant. Either way, scars do usually fade as time passes, maturing at about 1 year post-operatively.
Is there a lot of swelling involved with Buttock Augmentation?
The swelling associated with fat grafting can be mild to moderate, depending. Edema will be present, as will bruising so prepare you before hand.
When can I return to work?
